How to Make Money Online Without a Computer

Nov. 1, 20007

You can do it! Remember: Don't sweat the small stuff. It may be an inconvenience if you don't have a computer but it is not an obstacle to keep you from creating your own online business.

Public libraries in the US, as well as here in France, have free public access to computers. At most libraries, you can use a computer on demand if one is available, if not, you can reserve computer time, in advance, often ranging from one to two hours per day.

I recommend being prepared before hitting the library. If you need to research your prospective online business make a list beforehand to ensure your computer time is used to research, not to figure out what you want to research.

You can build your new online business with only spending an hour or two online each day. Just be sure to spend that time productively. Be prepared! If you already know what kind of online business you want to create then you can dig in immediately and begin to build your site.

Set goals for yourself. Write them down. Stay focus. Determine how many pages you want to create each day or week. You can create the webpage on paper before getting online so that your computer time will be used as productively as possible.

Don't forget that you are already at the library, so if you need to do research, you're in the right place. There are many books on HTML which you might find worth studying. HTML is the language which is used to build websites. If you find that you want or need to know a little HTML and you only have a couple hours on the computer a day, you can always take your HTML book to the children's section of the library as your child explores all the wonderful books, videos and tapes the library has to offer!

If you haven't checked out the video collection at your library yet, I strongly suggest it. Each library has a different collection of videos and it seems each collection is based on the buyer. I've been to libraries that have very strong English BBC and Non-Fiction sections and libraries which have Oscar Winning Films and Foreign Films. Most likely you will find a ton of videos which you can borrow and simply return the next time you visit. It's a great way to be exposed to a ton of films not available at the video store, as well as being an easy way to save a few bucks on entertainment without losing any of the fun!
