How to Increase Website Traffic
via Carnival Blogs

Nov. 13, 2007

My website is still a baby. It is in its first month of infancy. As you can imagine the ability to increase website traffic is high on my priority list since without traffic people won't visit my website which means no one would see my website. Therefore to increase website traffic to my website is vital to the health and longevity of my website. The more internet website traffic I can generate the more online money making potential the website offers me.

I've been puttering around the internet reading how I might build traffic to my website which will help it to become a money making website.

Everyone seems to agree that good content - well written articles - will increase website traffic more than any other traffic building method.

Its odd how most people approach this subject. Usually, the author will spend an entire blog/article writing about way to increase website traffic other than creating website content then inevitably end his/her blog on how to increase website traffic with 'but content is king' or 'but good content comes first".

Beyond content, webmasters agree that it is a mistake to buy internet website traffic to increase website traffic and doing so basically equates to investing in fool's gold, plus Google penalize s for such activity and you can get banned by Google for buying traffic. The website traffic that can be bought does not seem to equal bottom-line dollars taken from your pocket book. When you buy website traffic you are getting automated page views. How do you get loyal readers out of an automated program? From everything I've read one is better off if they do not buy traffic to increase website traffic but rather to invest time writing good articles which will add value to your website and in the long-term will increase website traffic.

Steve Pavlina wrote a blog back in May of '06 entitled " How to Make Money From Your Blog where he suggests ways to increase website traffic. One of his suggestions was to submit blogs to Blog Carnivals. I had no idea what a blog carnival was, so I did a little investigating.

Basically, a blog carnival is a place to submit your blogs for others to post on their own website. This process allows your blogs more exposure which will increase website traffic for you. The receiver of the blog puts a link to your article and homepage on their website so their readers will also have access to your blog and/or website which creates both internet website traffic to your site as well as increase website traffic to your website.

Starting a website is a dismal prospective especially if you've never done it before and you don't know what you're in for. You write and write and write. You make your website pretty and personable, or whatever feel you want for your website. You know that by creating good website content you will have a better chance to increase website traffic to your website. And then... *drum roll"... nothing. A big fat nothing. I don't know about you, but I'm into immediate gratification, even if I'm in this for the long haul, I still want it now! Content building doesn't offer immediate gratification. It offers good content that perhaps people will see later. Internet website traffic allows your content to be seen now. So no traffic, no viewership, no read content.

So enough was enough. I wanted a little nibble. It was time to boost my internet website traffic. I decided to take Steve up on his suggestion. I started submitting my blogs and articles to topic appropriate blogs in hopes of building traffic to my website and making the trudge a little less lonely.

Low and behold, I've begun to see a little internet website traffic. Okay, not a ton of hits and I'm sure some people already have mega traffic after only having their site up for a few weeks, but for those of you who are new to this blogging and the website business and without several other sites under your belt to spur internet website traffic from your already established internet social network I thought I'd share my experience with Carnival Blogs.

I'm happy to report that I am starting to get internet website traffic to my website and money is starting to trickle into my Adsense account. I can't live off it, but I can see potential. The internet website traffic I've seen from Carnival Blogs gives me encouragement and hope tha tI will continue to increase traffic to my website. It allows me to see the long-term potential of website monetization. It brings me patience and a sense of comfort in knowing that people are posting my blogs and interested in them and I get the payoff of increased internet website traffic.

Carnival Blogs are a win-win situation from what I can tell. You win because someone has posted your work and you are increase website traffic. The Carnival Blog that posted your work wins because your blog gives them fast and easy content which helps build their internet website traffic, as well. Now, you try it and let me know if you increase website traffic to your website as a result!

I'm also going to start looking into other social networking internet website traffic building opportunities - like Digg and Stumble Upon. I'll let you know what I learn.
