Dreadlock Hair Extensions

Sophie and I are often asked how long a person's hair needs to be for dreadlock extensions. We recommend that your hair length is at least 4-to-5 inches long.

If your hair is shorter than 4-to-5 inches you run the risk of not having enough hair to hold the dreadlocks in place. If your hair is a minimum of 4-to-5 inches long than you will be able to braid the hair around the dreadlock extension enough times to securely hold the dreadlock in place.

Chances are that you will leave the dreadlocks in your hair for at least a month or two. For this reason it is important to securely put the dreadlocks in. It's always a drag when your dreads fall out.

Just imagine, here you are hanging out at your favorite local cafe and plop your fabulous neon green dread falls into your mocha cappucino. Are you laughing at the thought of it or because you can relate since it's happened to you?

Here's another scenerio... You're finally ready to ask out that really hot person. You muster up the courage, walk over and begin to ask them out when plop your dread lands right between their big toe and second toe in their open-toe sandals.

Really, it's so much better just to make sure your dreads will stay in securely in the first place.

If your hair isn't long enough quite yet. Just wait. Figure it's better to wait a couple or a few extra weeks to put your dreads in the to deal with littering your dreads over half the town.

If you need to let your hair grow a little longer then take that extra time to check out all the extra cool colors and options and how you really want your hair to look so it fits your personality just perfect!
