Jan 7, 2008 There are several ways to implement website monetization. You could sell a product or offer a service. Another way to monetize your website would be to place ads - such as Adsense on your site which bring an income when people visit the site - which creates page impressions - or when people click on the ad itself, hence a Click Through Rate (CTR). This article will discuss website monetization from the ads which you place on your site. Let's say you build a website or create a blog and you want to monetize your website without selling a product or offering a service. You will need to place ads on your website. This is easy to do as the companies which offer such services, such as Google's Adsense Program, make website monetization incredibly simple to create site specific ads and that will in turn create the site specific HTML which you can then place on your website. As a whole, webmasters seem to have the best results with Google's AdSense program. It is easy to set-up, easy-to-use and easy to track your results. There are other ways to monetize your website, as well, including becoming an Amazon Affiliate, adding Chitika's eMiniMalls, WidgetBucks, Text Link Ads or writing blogs for pay for other people's websites. The more streams of income you have, the more opportunity you have of making and increasing your income. A stream of income is a source of income, or where your income is coming from. Amazon Affiliates program would be a single source of income. AdSense would be another single source of income. Chitika's eMiniMalls would be yet another single source of income. Together these sources of income equal your accumulative streams of income. In the world of blogging-for-a-living or creating a website-for-profit multiple streams of income allow you to increase your chances of making more money. That being said, it is important to find balance and remember that your website needs to offer something constructive and useful to your reader. Your website must have value. What is it you are offering? Websites that do not offer a product for sale or a service offer information, also referred to as content. People will visit your website because you have something they want, namely information. They want to read what you have to say. By drawing people in with your fabulous words of wisdom you offer them the opportunity to click on your ads or increase your number of page impressions which will potentially increase your income from your blog or website. It's all about the give and take. You are offering your visitors something they want, free information, and in return they are giving you something you want, an income. In the end, the more information you offer your readers the more likely you are of increasing your visitors which will inevitably result in an increased opportunity for income from your blog or website. So, while it is important to monetize your website - to allow your website to create an income for you - it is equally important to offer visitors a reason to visit your website. So write. Write about anything. The topic doesn't matter. Someone will inevitably have the same interest as you and search for what you have written about. That will be your niche. It might also prove to be your inspiration. It's always easier to do what you want to do than force yourself to do something that doesn't interest you. So write about what interests you. If it interests you, it will also interest someone else and since it's your website, or blog, you might as well make it one that is about something that makes your heart and inspiration soar!
