Twisting vs Backcombing Dreadlocks
**Making and selling custom dreads worldwide since 2007** We make dreads that fit you, your personality & your life! *Buy dreads here* The best synthetic dreadlocks on the market are handmade, backcombed kanekalon dreadlocks. A lot of dreadlocks for sale are twisted by machine. This is the easiest way to make a lot of dreads quickly. The problem with twisting dreadlocks is that the dreads tend to fall apart quickly. Backcombed dreadlocks are made by hand. How well the dreads are backcombed will determine how long the dreads last. Sophie usually keeps her dreads in for a couple months at a time and her dreads have never even begun to loosen. This is because Sophie takes a lot time backcombing each dreads tightly. She puts the time in upfront so that there are no problems with the dreads later. When you are considering buying dreadlocks it is important to know how the seller makes the dreadlocks. If the dreads are just twisted they will fall apart - unless they are part of a dreadlock fall. Dreadlock falls are temporary and taken out each night. Usually they are only on the head for a matter of hours and just for special occasions, like when you're out partying or at an event. This means that dreadlock falls don't take the same kind of day-in-and-day-out wear-and-tear as do dreadlock extensions that remain in your hair over a long period of time which are washed on a regular basis and need to be durable enough to endure the elements. For durability and long-lasting wear we recommend synthetic kanekalon backcombed dreadlocks. Those are the only kind of synthetic dreads we make because they are the best and the only synthetic dreadlocks worth spending your money on. That being said, it is important to note that backcombed dreads are twisted in the sealing process. Dreads for Heads on Facebook
